Design Goal

This was the introductory class that described the methods of conceptual research. At first, we were asked to look for opportunities to solve existing problems in Savannah. Once I found a problem, I researched about it and presented our findings. To me, issues surrounding biking in Savannah presented the most opportunities.

Design Solution

Aim of this project was to arrive at a final statement and make a presentation about my findings on biking in Savannah. I did primary research since my topic was on biking in Savannah, and I gained important insights from the city’s residents. On the basis of the research and findings, I decided to take the project forward and develop a visual outcome. As the research showed, it was a very important priority to improve the transportation experience in Savannah.

Design Concept

I designed a presentation as our final visual outcome. In addition, I designed a Mobile application.  Taking this forward, I thought the best way to approach this problem would be by designing a solution for SCAD students who come from different parts of the world and educating them about some dos and don’ts on biking in Savannah in a fun way. Since students are always using smartphones, I decided to create an application that would help new students to bike around the city safely and also remind them about some tips such as wearing a helmet, and so on. The entire application has been user tested and designed with a focus on the students studying at SCAD.
